Julia Bao O.D. is a 2021 graduate of the Kentucky College of Optometry and joined Heinsight Eyecare January 2026. Born and raised in Canton, Michigan, Dr. Bao earned her undergraduate degree in Human Biology from Michigan State University. What jump started her interest in the field was experiencing first hand the impact of her first pair of glasses, and she strives to bring that same difference to improve others’ quality of life.

Dr. Bao is committed to providing comprehensive and compassionate eye care. Her dedication to lifelong learning inspires her to ensure that every patient feels informed and empowered when it comes to their eye health. She is licensed to diagnose and treat ocular diseases, with a focus on glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic eye examinations. She is an active member of the American Optometric Association and the Michigan Optometric Association. Outside of the office, she enjoys drawing, travelling and trying new restaurants.
